Sneffels Highline
Strenuous But Stunning
The Sneffels Highline is the epitome of hiking in Telluride. It offers fields of wildflowers, waterfalls, stunning views of the Telluride Ski Area, and so much more. It can be done as an out-and-back or as a longer loop if it's connected with Deep Creek. We recommend shuttling a car and leaving one at the water plant.
Directions:
Start on the Jud Weibe trail from Aspen Street, and after hiking for 1/2 mile, turn left at the Deep Creek Trail sign. Proceed to the Sneffels Highline Trail sign and turn right. The route progresses above timberline and then to the saddle. This hike can also be made into a loop when it connects to Deep Creek. That loop makes this hike 14.3 miles with an elevation gain of 3,986 feet.
